On 23 June 2019, the International Olympic Committee officially inaugurated Olympic House, its new headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Designed to embody the IOC’s mission of building a better world through sport, the opening marked a symbolic milestone for the Olympic Movement and the reforms introduced with the Olympic Programme 2020.
The grand opening ceremony was staged in a custom-built transparent tent overlooking the new building. A key visual element of the event was a minimalist, freestanding LED video wall, positioned as a conceptual threshold between the guests and Olympic House.
Platforma designed and integrated this seamless LED installation in partnership with Habegger AG. The structure appeared to float, with no visible structural supports, reinforcing the themes of lightness, innovation, and transparency.
At the climax of the ceremony, the LED wall gently moved aside, revealing Olympic House in a carefully choreographed moment of architectural storytelling and symbolic transition.
